Once upon a time, somewhere. I used to link to blogs that should be noticed because of their Real touch on Malagasy way of life. Life you get to know while waiting for the bus at 6 in morning when you just had enough time to get coffee and menakely. Did someone read those posts? I sincerly don’t know, don’t care – maybe because I still don’t know what this blog of mine is about – but I found new ideas for this category and my little tiny brain went on its way to develop a fun game. Of course all my good friends out there were invited to take part and , surprisingly, they joined me (very quickly) in describing “Madagascar…50 years after”. Our way to share between generations on how we lived back then when life was good, how we wish the country should have turned and ,why not?, what do we want tomorrow to look like. If you happen to have 10 minutes on hands, please join us by starting the conversation among your friends and relatives especially those who had lived independance days in 1960, 1972 revolution, hard life in 1980 or streets in 1991….it won’t take you more than 10 minutes, 3 questions …I will be patiently waiting for you!!!

What have been your best memories of life in Madagascar so far?
Debute 90’s, holidays in Mahajanga every year till the mid 90’s. There was no risk leaving the house without keepers at the time. Life was cheaper in general. Breads cost 30Ar, bus fare nearly the same. We went to the swimming pool 2-3 times a week. I’ll never forget the 2002 crisis. I had to go on foot from Antanimena till Itaosy because buses were rare. The ambiance during the strikes in the independence avenue. I had the chance to catch the last days of the real “cinéma”, not DVD projection like what they have today.

How do you see our country in 50 years??
In 50 years… hard to say, I hope it’s gonna be better in all senses economically, politically, socially, humanly.
What are you willing/planning to do to have a better life or to reach your goals in life?

thanks tahina. i couldn’t agree more with you “LEARN MORE” there is this huge problem with kids these days when they think they know more than the elders or olders or the guy next door. in the other side we hv the raianmandreny who sometimes don’t really listen to the younger ones. man. what to do what to do.
im very sorry i lost your comments but i didnt forget abt ikalamako reminding us abt the price v/s lentgh of the mofogasy. she was so upset ywhen she got back home and realised she had to spend twice the price for half the quantity. and the stuff abt insecurity how we couldn’t go home by night by foot anymore passed 6 pm. it sucks .
Lol, remeber no more what I wrote here lol
We used to live in Ambatomitsangana and didn’t have much trouble and the size of the 30ar bread was fair enough for me cause i didn’t know any other ones lol
I also forgot to say that we were the last kalesa riders in our neighbourhood around 94-95
